Honored To Be A Finalist

Annie’s Locker has always been about making a difference in our
community. Late in 2016, we were thrilled to learn that our organization
was named a finalist for the Rockford Register Star’s Excelsior award.
This annual award is given to an area organization for their exceptional
community service, excellence and making a difference in the Rock River
Valley.
We’re grateful to one of our fantastic partners, Teresa Reeverts, director of
program support services, at the Rockford Rescue Mission who
nominated us for the award. Here’s what Teresa had to say in her
nomination: “Because of Annie’s Locker and their continued support, our
residents have been mentored and cheered by Annie’s volunteers, and
most importantly, befriended and supported by the beautiful people
involved with Annie’s Locker.”
Though we didn’t win the Excelsior, becoming a finalist was a wonderful
way for thousands to learn more about the work we do.
Congratulations to both of this year’s award winners -Rockford Sexual
Assault Counseling (Excelsior) and Rev. David E. Beauvais (Excalibur).
